Bengal politics is currently abuzz over a comment made by a Trinamool Congress MLA. The BJP organization in the state has started protests in different parts of the state due to the inappropriate comments made by the Prisons Minister Akhil Giri about the President of the country. The state's main opposition party, BJP, has protested against the ruling party by issuing such comments by a heavyweight leader of the ruling party and an MLA currently sitting in the ministerial position of the state. The BJP organization in the state is trying to gain a political advantage ahead of the upcoming panchayat polls by trumping up the ugly comments about the late president.

While attacking Subhendu Adhikari from a public meeting in Nandigram, senior minister Akhil Giri made rude comments about the country's President Draupadi Murmu. On this day, while attacking Shubhendu Adhikari, he said at one point about the President of the country, “What a beauty! What is good to see! We do not judge form. I respect the president's chair. What does your president look like?”. Later, however, the Prisons Minister said he had mistakenly made such comments about the President out of anger. But he refused to apologize. Incidentally, the opposition leader in the mentioned state, Shubhendu Adhikari, has been taunting prison minister Akhil Giri as 'black crow' and 'minister wearing half pants' many times in the past.

Minister of Public Works and Urban Development Firhad Hakim participated in a dengue awareness rally in Bidhannagar. According to him, the party does not support such comments of Akhil Giri. He also says that he himself is black but the leader loves him. Neither he nor his party leader condones such comments.
